This six storey condo proposes to excavate and retain most of a designated ravine to house an underground parking lot. The proposed plantings would receive no southern exposure. The mature trees are to be removed with the justification of being unworthy trees. The upper storeys are to be constructed mainly of glass in a migratory flightpath. This ravine is home to many hawks, owls and many, many songbirds. This building would tower over the homes on Glen Davis Crescent beneath which Tomlinson's Creek still rushes; springs pop through the tarmac. No EA has been presented. No archaeological assessment has been done. The under brush has been clear cut. The OMB gave it ravine designation in 1988. The forested landlocked base of the ravine adjacent to the proposed development was sold off in a tax sale by the city in 2005. The new owner would like to develop that too.
